On Sunday 11th July, Markers for Mindfulness held ts first public event to highlight mental health, bring the community together and raise awareness for the project and the work it is trying to do.

A massive thank you to everyone who came to “Tea & Talk” event, it was wonderful to see so many people and a great opportunity to chat about the project, our community, schools, teachers and mental health. Over 30 people joined us for a drink and slice of cake.  The mindfulness colouring was popular with our younger guests and the carrot cake seemed the most popular with everyone.
An incredible £145.55 was raised , with more to come in the next few days as cakes get delivered to those who sent messages but where not able to join us on the day! This money is going to make a big impact to the project.
Thank you to Didcot Mayor Pam Siggers for coming along, supporting and pulling our raffle.  Thank you to Cllr Sally – Hendreds & Harwell for joining us, continuing to support the project and for an unbelievably productive conversation about the future!
There was not much cake left! It was truly a great day and I am always humbled by the amazing support of the wonderful Didcot community.  It’s going to be a busy summer, but one that will bring more focus to Markers and help the project make a bigger impact and a big difference to teachers, schools and students! Watch this space.
